only Ubuntu 8.04 ndiswrapper broadcom wifi
E 'output just version 8.04 of one of the most popular Linux distributions in the last 3 years. (Version with long-term support for more)
After installation, same screen and the usual things (good things) ...
Two things I always do after installation:
- install ndiswrapper (I have a Broadcom wifi card)
- install a Network Manager called Wicd (I prefer it to default)
Why do I say this?
Automatic updates recompile the Linux kernel, this sends confusing ndiswrapper ... that must be removed and reinstalled.
There is actually the ability to customize the kernel to recompile each time inside the programs we have added ... (Ndiswrapper wanting ...)
What makes me a bit angry is that there is a graphic way to tell the kernel after adding ndiswrapper should be part of programs to be recompiled every time.
My previous experience was with Sabayon Linux, a distribution derived from Gentoo, graphically imponenete, also had this defects on the beautiful, but updated (recompile everything all the time) I never ever had similar problems ...
I know, I know -> back to Sabayon then ... No, but I wish that things would improve with time ... I'm patient ...
